Duplex
The Dúplex stool was born in the interior design project of the Dúplex Bar in Valencia in 1980. An object that appears with its bright colors, like something out of a comic book. Mariscal breaks the stereotype of the stool and dispenses with one of the four legs with a game of line and movement.
The presentation of this design and its publication in international magazines, opens the doors to collaboration with Memphis in Italy. In 1981 the company BD Ediciones de Diseño launched the commercialization of the stool until 2003. It became a classic in Javier Mariscal's career.
This new edition, directed by the artist, rescues some elements of the original design and reaffirms the timelessness of the piece.
