MARISCAL. THE JOY OF LIVING

The transition from dictatorship to democracy; the birth of the underground comic; the design boom in Spain; the miraculous 1990s. Mariscal’s life and work paint a portrait of an entire era. The story of a man who conquered the world and had to lose everything to rediscover himself.

The film is the second feature-length documentary directed by Laura Grande, who also served as executive producer; it is a production led by the Valencian company Estrela Audiovisual in co-production with RTVE. The project has received collaboration from the Valencian Regional Government’s IVC Department of Education, Research, Culture, and Sport; the Presidency of the Valencian Regional Government; the City of Valencia; and the Provincial Council of Valencia; support from World Design Capital Valencia 2022; the participation of À Punt Mèdia, IB3, and CREA SGR; and funding from Yunit.
