POMPIDOU CENTER

2024

The exhibition L'Enfance du Design, at the Pompidou Center, brings together a careful selection of original works and furniture objects that explore the profound relationship between design and childhood.

The Pompidou Center acquires for its collection designs produced by Magis such as the brick shelf and the dog Julian, as well as prototypes of the collection and preparatory drawings.

The exhibition showcases the acquired pieces, along with the legacy of the Centre de Création Industrielle, which already in the 1970s explored the relationship between childhood and design in iconic exhibitions such as La ville & l'enfant ( 1977-1978) and Jouets et jeux ( 1979). Now, with the support of the Bonpoint brand, more than half of the pieces on display have been acquired to further enrich this reflection on children's design.

The exhibition not only celebrates creativity in children's furniture design, but also invites you to discover how these objects can be tools for learning, play and development, opening up new possibilities for imagining the future of design.
